Should we have a Study Hall at PTHS?

Whether or not you get a lot of work assigned by teachers, a study hall period seems to be an idea that people seem to want. Based on an informal poll taken at the high school, people seem to agree that having a study hall would be a positive addition to the schedule.

Students also agreed with the option of replacing a current elective in their schedule with a study hall. It seems to be that the reason a study hall has not been implemented as of yet is because officials are worried that students will not do their work and instead use their time for non productive activities. A study hall, however, would benefit hard working students because it would give them time to study and do their work in school.

Whether or not a study hall will be integrated into the school is not yet clear, but it seems that it would relieve some of the stress students have regarding their workload.
