Welcome to this year’s AP Government President of Pequannock Election. Once again, the Gold and Blue Parties will face off in a fast-paced, high intensity debate on platforms and policies.

Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates Matthew Fricker and Olivia Trautwein (Blue) and Liam Shay and Sydney Levine (Gold) have run competitive campaigns and exhibited great determination to win. Their public debate and the impending election will culminate a three-week project that constitutes a significant portion of the AP students’ second trimester grade. More importantly, the election demonstrates to the student body the values of the democratic process. Both parties and the AP U.S. Government and Politics class at large are to be commended for their academic efforts, all of which are guided and supported skillfully by Mrs. Jana Cohen.

Panther Press has requested platforms from both parties, portions of which are posted here and which the Presidential and Vice-Presidential candidates will debate. Both parties have worked diligently to design websites, discuss policy and campaign strategies with teachers, and create video commercials that advance their policies.

On behalf of PTHS, Panther Press welcomes all Pequannock Township School District administrators, faculty and staff, family, alumni, and visitors to the 2018 PTHS Presidential Debate on Thursday, December 20 and wishes luck to both parties.
