Operation Smile once again filled the school with joy as the club encouraged PTHS to take part in the annual “Smile Week”.
All throughout the week “smile” poems were read during the morning announcements. Members of the club worked very hard creating posters, smile bags, and activities for students and faculty to partake in each day.
Teagan Smith was the winner of “Guess your teachers Smile,” a contest which had students examine a poster board filled with teachers’ smiles. They then were entered to win a $10 dunkin gift card. The club also raffled off a $25 giftcard to the Pompton Queen Diner for fifty cents a ticket. Juliette Davis secured that prize along with other fun trinkets the club put together.
Additionally, Op Smile members passed out smile bags to teachers and students and encouraged others to do the same.
Operation Smile is always looking for new members who are interested in lending a helping hand. Operation Smile Student Programs is a great way to get involved and put yourself in a position to help others. For example, several members of our school have attended the International Student Leadership Program which allows them to travel to places such as Madagascar and Panama. They offer so many different opportunities for students just like you! If interested, see Mrs. Kohle or senior Jill Tindall for information.
