Girls State and Boys State

Once again the Guidance Department is involved in the process of making recommendations for Boys State, Girls State and Girls Career Institute.

The purpose of Girls State is to provide citizenship training for girls of high school age. It allow them to afford them an opportunity to live together as self-governing citizens and to inform them about the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of American citizenship. Boys State is similar in the sense that it helps to develop good citizens of the United States by inspiring the youth of New Jersey to take a more active and intelligent interest in the operation of our state and nation and the privileges and responsibilities of citizenship.

If you wish to be considered for any of these honors, please complete the bottom portion of the letter on the Pequannock website and return it to the Guidance Office on or before Thursday February 1, 2018. This is a very good opportunity for the students here at PTHS and all are encouraged to apply.
